ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF CHIEF DIGITAL OFFICER (CDO)

  1. Leading digitalization initiatives in providing service delivery that meets the needs and experiences of the people, is safe, efficient, intelligent and trusted.
  • Driving the direction of digitalization based on the Digitalization Strategic Plan (PSP) in ministries/departments/agencies through a data-driven, people-centric culture and security-centric service design.
  • Transforming the delivery of digital services in ministries/departments/agencies focused on customer experience based on a Whole-of-Government approach through innovation involving data sharing, open data and emerging technologies.
  • Planning and coordinating cyber security action plans to ensure the agency’s data and ICT infrastructure are always protected from internal and external threats.
  • Plan and assess digital service needs, service design and development budget as well as required management budget.
  1. Leading digital transformation through the use of data and technology
    in line with current government policies/plans.
  • Planning and ensuring the implementation of digitalization changes is in line with the Government’s current policies/plans which are aligned with the ministry/department/agency’s PSP.
  • Creating a digital environment and culture in ministries/departments/agencies to increase digital literacy and understanding of the use of technology towards empowering the delivery of digital government services.
  1. Involve and report on digitalization implementation to governance
    related.
  • Serve on committees by performing roles based on the terms of reference of the relevant committee in accordance with the circular in force.
  • Report the implementation and progress status of digital transformation to relevant digital governance bodies such as the Ministry/Department/Agency JPICT and the Digital Government Meeting
