NATIONAL DIGITAL DEPARTMENT BACKGROUND

National Digital Department (NDD) was established through the rebranding of the Malaysian Administrative Modernization and Management Planning Unit (MAMPU) on 12 December 2023 and placed under the Ministry of Digital. The establishment of this Department is in line with the government’s efforts to strengthen the digitalization of the public sector and accelerate the country’s digital transformation.

As the sole agency in the government services digitalization agenda, JDN is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing digital policies and initiatives to improve the efficiency of service delivery to the people. This department also acts as a technical advisor to government agencies in aspects of strategic planning, system development, and strengthening digital governance.

Through a Whole of Government (WoG) approach, JDN is leading the development of more efficient, smarter, and secure digital services. Initiatives such as GovTech, strategic data analytics, and inter-agency digital infrastructure sharing are at the core of JDN’s role in empowering sustainable digital government. With a clear vision and mission, JDN remains committed to driving the digitization of government services towards a more inclusive and efficient digital society.
