Digital Government Committee

The Digital Government Committee was established in line with the launch of MyDIGITAL and the Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint (RTEDM) on 19 February 2021. This committee is responsible for managing and monitoring digitalization policies, programs and projects in driving the digital transformation of the public sector.

This committee is comprised of all relevant Ministries and departments as follows:

    6. Implementation Coordination Unit

Stewardship: National Digital Department

Terms of reference

    1. Establishing the vision, policies, strategies and direction for the country’s digitalization towards a high-tech nation.
    2. Design a data-driven strategy to create a secure environment for data sharing between the public and private sectors.
    3. Improve efficiency in data collection to support decision-making and improve national policy implementation.
    4. Continuously improve the digital competence of civil servants.
    5. Strengthen capabilities in cybersecurity, secure access to government data and protect information privacy in government systems.
    6. Strengthening the delivery of more efficient and responsive public services through the use of new technology to improve effectiveness and user satisfaction.
    7. Strengthen compliance with laws relating to data sharing and use as well as protection of data owner rights.
    8. Mobilize and monitor the progress of the implementation of national digitalization strategies and initiatives according to the plans and targets set.
    9. Identify issues and challenges related to the implementation of the National 4IR Policy and the Malaysian Digital Economy Blueprint and formulate appropriate policy proposals.
