Welcome to the official website of the National Digital Department (JDN), formerly known as the Malaysian Administrative Modernization and Management Planning Unit (MAMPU). In line with the rapid development of global technology, the role of JDN continues to be strengthened in driving the country’s digitalization agenda, improving the efficiency of public service delivery, and empowering the country’s digital economy.

Continuing its legacy, JDN continues to play a leading role in the digital transformation of the public sector. This rebranding is not just a name change, but rather carries a broader mission to drive a sustainable, innovative and resilient digital government. The adoption of new technologies in service delivery — such as artificial intelligence (AI), big data, blockchain, cybersecurity and cloud computing — is at the core of the development of the country’s people-centric and data-driven GovTech ecosystem. JDN is committed to serving as the government’s ICT technical reference centre in ensuring that digitalisation initiatives are implemented efficiently, agilely, securely and comprehensively, in line with the Whole of Government (WoG) principle. This approach is believed to be able to improve the quality of public service delivery, strengthen the confidence of the people, and boost the country’s competitiveness on the global stage.

As the National Digital Technical Department, JDN will continue to play a strategic role in policy setting, design and implementation of digital services; provision of ICT infrastructure and security; data sharing; talent development; and fostering innovation at all levels of government agencies. The empowerment of the country’s digitalization ecosystem will continue to be driven through a people-focused approach, based on the use of advanced technology, data management with integrity and responsive service delivery. All of this is supported by digital operational efficiency and strong, comprehensive and transparent governance at every level of administration.

As Head of Information Systems Services, I am committed to continuing to strengthen the development of digital talent among public sector ICT officers so that they remain relevant and competitive in facing the ever-changing technological challenges. Efforts to cultivate innovation, improve competencies, and foster a spirit of cross-agency cooperation will continue to be intensified.
I call on all members of the National Digital Department and all public sector ICT officers to continue to work together, strengthen synergies and continue our hard work towards achieving the vision, mission and functions of the National Digital Department, as well as realizing the aspirations of a MADANI Malaysia and the National Digital Agenda.
